Today was my first day at work, in a company called Andaulsia Healthcare Business Solutions “AHBS” in my beloved Alex.
kind of i was surprised by the coding approach used there, it’s simply “No Coding”

every thing is made using wizards and code generators, and i mean it “everything”, where the computer’s mouse is the main actor here
and u use ur keyboard as a shortcut to Copy, Paste and press “Alt + Ctrl +Delete” when Windows hangs
the manager has a point anyway, he doesn’t want “some kind” of developers to mess the code up, or write untraceable buggy code, and the company is specialized in one field where this approach can fit.
this approach depends mainly on MS products (SharePoint, InfoPath, Web Services,….. ), Markup languages (i’ve already seen +4 formats) and converters between those formats
i think in small projects this approach makes no sense, as it takes may be up to 3 times the normal development time, moving between apps and configuring various wizards
may be it saves some time with large systems, i don’t know till now, i didn’t see handling complex situations with this approach, but i think it won’t be that complicated
today, i’ve implemented 3 sample apps just to learn the process without using the keyboard except to name the files
for me it’s useful as i’m learning some new tools and approaches but i think writing loops, algorithms, playing with pointers and banging my head against the wall because of the stupid reasonless bugs is more interesting
ah…. one last thing. i cant say that outlook is not useful or small application, but for me.. it sucks and i hate it :S

well..
lastly i’ve won an award of being the “Ideal student 2008-2009″, that reminded me with the complicated process i’ve passed to win that award….
first, a white/black paper is hanged everywhere in the faculty buildings with the important points are highlighted with a green highlighting pen which says “The student who sees himself Ideal go to Mr/Mrs …….”
this student should have the following characteristics:
1-his clothes should indicate he is an Egyptian student… i don’t know which clothes doesn’t indicate i’m Egyptian, if they meant a custom, then the only things that is an Egyptian custom is Jalabeyya or Tarboosh, else are American, Italian,….
2-he should be speaking more than a language… lol, i speak 2 Arabic languages and Egyptian English very well (Y)
3-his grades are not less than Ver Good
so.. of course no body applied in this game, neither did i..
and they have to have students…, this is the routine in the University, there must be students in this thing or……. anything will happen..
the money devoted for that purpose will rot.
so they used plan B….

Head to the place where students live
1-Head to the places known that students live..
2-Apply some filtering

YOU look Ideal !!!

you too seem to be ideal... gimme ur phone number

Yeah... very ideal cigarette indeed......

-hey, i've seen an ideal creature over there............................................/-where... where.... ?!!!
and you may guess the last scene….
.
.
.

ANY ONE ELSE.... !!!!!!!! ANY ONE ELSE.......
may be she had a high threshold for filtration
at the end we where 3 boys and a dozen girls, where one boy didn’t know anything about that except he have to be in front of the deans office and the other was the one used to be tha ideal student in the previous years
and we had an interview and some questions to test my knowledge.. of course i knew nothing and my answer was i don’t know, but i was told “just think more”, actually i don’t know how will i think to get the answer of a history question, but anyway i calculated that stekeus canel was in the ear given that they told me that it’s in the human body
at the end after answering 3/6 question i was told that i had answered 4/6 and may be it was written that i answered 6/6 (Y)(Y)
yeah i have very powerful knowledge
i don’t know what happened next except that i won the reward to be the Ideal Student in FCIS 2008-2009
and will compete for the same award over the university…
that was fun, i went to the university competition and had a similar knowledge MCQ test but this time i answered by eliminating wrong answers….
i remember one question was “who is the Egyptian/Arabian runner who won “something i can’t remember ?” and the choices where
1-Nawal El Zo3′by
2-Nawal Al Se3dawy
3-Nawal “i don’t remember”
and more questions with the same style
i don’t know why didn’t win over the University competition
:D, any way.. the best thing was that they fed us (Y)

That was one of Thousands of Egyptian processes that people involved in it are the ones who don’t know why do they do so or what does it mean :s
I hope one day we understand…..

first take care how will you read the title
i mean don’t read it as “The (Half Rule)” but read it as “(The Half) Rule” parenthesis makes difference
i mean “Half” here is a noun not an adjective
if u still can’t understand just u’ll understand from the context
ok ok.. hold on.. “Kanoon El-Noss” , i think it’s now clear
well, this rule was developed in SC’09 Class or u can call them the SC Mens…
yes… “Mens”

any way, this rule is simply that “the doctor has 30 Mins to be late, else he won’t find any one to give a lecture or a section”
i know that this may not be a right decision but..
1-being students doesn’t mean that Doctors doesn’t respect us and come on time
2-SOME doctors punishes the students who come late, so i think we have the right to do something like this
the third reason which i like the most is….
being a group of people who have one decision
thats really what i loved in creating such a rule “to unit”
we really felt powerful with this ONE decision, “the something that i really miss as an Egyptian or even an Arab
“
that rule made some doctors call us before the lecture/section time telling that they’ll be late
at the end i/we didn’t intend to insult any one from those who teached us ,but we had the right to do what we did besides we felt the power of being a unit and did what Dr.Roushdy Aamer said, “that students can’t and won’t unit”
Note: this post is written on April/17/2009 , but won’t be published till this term is over…..
u know…. when an Egyptian misunderstands…..
Long Live SC Mens
